On November 11, the Montana Timber Legacy Foundation and Montana Logging Association (MLA) sponsored and hosted a booth at the Montana FFA Ag Expo Career Fair held at Montana State University – Bozeman.
The career fair offered a valuable opportunity to engage with Montana high school students. Through educational materials available at the booth and one-on-one discussions with timber harvesting professionals, students learned about the importance of timber harvesting in our state’s history and future and the career opportunities available in the forest products industry.
A popular feature at this year’s booth was an equipment simulator that allowed students to take the controls of a logging processor, a powerful machine for delimbing and bucking felled trees.
This annual interactive event is one that the Foundation and MLA look forward to and have attended for the last five years. Representatives at this year's event included MLA representatives Tim McEntire & Justin Doble and Timber Legacy Foundation representatives Dyrk & Erin Krueger and MLA member Tighe Williamson.
